How It Started
The origins of Chef’s Cut Real Jerky Co™ are deeply rooted in the game of golf. In 2004, Chef Blair “BJ” Swiler shared his homemade jerky with Dennis Riedel while caddying for him. Riedel, who was playing golf on the Florida Mini Tours began to convince Chef Blair to start selling his jerky to the public.
In 2009, as caddies at Calusa Pines Golf Club and Bayonne Golf Club, Swiler and Riedel launched BJ’s Real Steak Jerky™ with a mission to make a chef-crafted snack that traveled well on the golf course. The duo sold their jerky into over 700 golf courses and country clubs in the first two years, including Pebble Beach Golf Links and Pinehurst Resort.
BJ’s Real Steak Jerky™ became Chef’s Cut Real Jerky Co™ in 2013, and the company began to expand far outside just the realm of the golf course. Now, Chef’s Cut Real Jerky Co™ is available in most grocery chains nationally, over 1,000 golf courses, and is the 4th fastest growing Food & Beverage company in the country. No matter the growth or national attention that Chef’s Cut Real Jerky Co™ receives, one thing remains the same – there’s no better snack for 18 holes than a bag of Chef Blair’s jerky.

"It seems during season last year that I had a hard time keeping it in stock. It’s a great protein boost for the professional and amateur golfers as they make the turn at our halfway house. It is truly a quality product from the marketing and packaging to the ingredients and flavor profile. I have heard nothing but good feedback from our membership!"
